A blown head gasket is a common cause of engines that produce blue or white exhaust smoke. Unlike many gasket kits that require additional parts to complete the repair, this kit includes the actual gaskets most commonly needed to perform the job.

Common Symptoms This Kit Fixes

  • Engine blowing blue or white smoke

  • Exhaust smoke coming from the crankcase

  • Engine oil extremely dark and smells like exhaust

  • Oil residue on fuel pump screen

Important

Before replacing the head gasket, verify the fuel pump is operating properly.

A failing fuel pump can allow fuel to enter the crankcase, which may also cause white smoke and oil contamination.

Common Symptoms of a Bad Fuel Pump

  • Strong gasoline smell in engine oil
  • Thin or diluted engine oil
  • Overfilled oil level
  • Excessive white smoke
